Publisher Take-Two has announced a new partnership with Nickelodeon to form 2K Play, a new division of the company dedicated to casual and family gaming including new licensed handheld and console games based on Nick Jr. shows like Dora the Explorer and Go, Diego, Go.

The two shows will be the first to see products released under the 2K Play label, which will sit along side 2K Games and 2K Sports as its latest division. The group will absorb Take-Two's Global Star Software label, and will include the Cat Daddy Games studio, which recently completed Take-Two's Wii exclusive Carnival Games title, as well as the Deal or No Deal PC games.

In May, THQ announced an extensive Nickelodeon licensed line-up including cartoons SpongeBob and Avatar, and live action adaptations Zoey 101 and Drake and Josh.

Said 2K president Christoph Hartmann, "The 2K Play label targets the growing market of casual gamers interested in accessible, high-quality products. It will be home to games that are fun and engaging for players of varied skill types and ages. Our exciting initiative with Nick Jr. will offer a host of games featuring world-famous brands that appeal to the family-friendly gamer."
