Developer-publisher 38 Studios has announced it has appointed former Comcast Games VP and general manager Jennifer MacLean as its vice president of business development.

MacLean is currently the incoming chair of the Board of Directors of the International Game Developer's Association (IGDA). While at Comcast, her responsibilities included interactive entertainment strategy, business development, and product management.

She also spearheaded products including Chill, Comcast's casual games product line, and the company's game content aggregator and video on demand offering GameInvasion.net, in addition to negotiating and managing partnerships with Electronic Arts, Major League Baseball Advanced Media, Fox Sports, Real Networks, Oberon Media, and Microsoft. Prior to joining Comcast, she held the position of senior product manager, responsible for more than 35 individual game titles at AOL.

38 Studios, founded in 2006 by Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling, is in pre-production on an original fantasy IP driven based on concepts by R. A. Salvatore and Todd McFarlane. Its upcoming products will include an MMORPG, novels, comics, toys, movies, TV, and more.

Commented MacLean, "38 Studios is developing a reputation as one of the industry's top companies at which to work because of its people, leadership, and vision. I'm truly excited to join a ground-breaking company that is working to deliver a next-generation online entertainment experience that transcends the traditional games we understand today."
