Exhibitors will show off mostly PC, mobile, and Nintendo DS titles at Tokyo Game Show 2008, according to a preliminary tally released by conference organizers and translated by game weblog Kotaku.

As it stands, the Wii is listed as having the biggest presence of the major home consoles at the event. The count, however, does not yet include games from platform holders Microsoft and Sony, as well as several major publishers, such as Square Enix, Namco Bandai, Konami, and Capcom.

The complete listing is as follows:

PC - 98 titles
Nintendo DS - 78 titles
Mobile - 76 titles
Wii - 27 titles
Xbox 360 - 14 titles
PlayStation Portable - 13 titles
PlayStation 3 - 12 titles
PlayStation 2 - 8 titles
Other - 136 titles

Exhibitors intend to demonstrate at least 27 development tools and 51 peripherals at TGS 2008. Event organizers also posted a count for the genres of the games slated to appear so far, with action titles leading the list by a wide margin:

Action - 90 titles
RPG - 35 titles
Puzzle - 25 titles
Simulation - 22 titles
Sports - 20 titles
Adventure - 14 titles
Shooting - 11 titles
Racing - 3 titles
Other - 164 titles

This year's Tokyo Game Show will be held at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba, Japan from October 9 to 12. Though the first two days will be open only to the press, the general public is invited to attend on the last two days.
