Independent developer Zombie Studios is partnering with Fox Atomic and production company Union Entertainment to create military action franchise Blacklight, comprising a film, comic book series and video game.
Zombie, developer of the Saw video game, created the Blacklight property. It's a futuristic "covert military action epic", and while Zombie will produce the multiplatform video game, Fox Atomic will handle the comic book series while Union Entertainment will tackle the feature film.
The film and video game will be written by Jason Dean Hall, writer of the Sundance-premiered Spread who's also working on projects for DreamWorks and Universal.
"From the start, I have envisioned Blacklight as a story that spans all of the forms of media I enjoy most," says Zombie CEO Mark Long.
"It's an ambitious project and I've been fortunate to find partners at Fox Atomic and Union who share that same vision. We are cooperating on the comic, game and movie at levels that are unprecedented in the industry."
