Microsoft Confirms 'Summer Of Arcade' XBLA Line-Up
Microsoft's first "Summer of Arcade" on Xbox 360 saw the release of high-profile games like Braid and Castle Crashers, boosting monthly Xbox Live sales to a 67 percent revenue increase over its previous high.
Now the company's ready to do it again, and has confirmed the lineup for the 2009 Summer of Arcade. It kicks off July 22 with The Maw developer Twisted Pixel Games' Splosion Man for 800 MSP ($10). The titular character can, naturally, explode himself to progress in the platformer, which features 50 single-player and 50 multiplayer levels.
Following 'Splosion Man is Backbone and Capcom's spiffed-up re-release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2, adding online multiplayer and enhanced HD graphics. It'll also be priced at 1200 MSP.
On August 5 comes the release of Ubisoft Singapore's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-shelled, a 3D revamp of the arcade classic available for 1200 Microsoft points ($15).
August 12 will bring RedLynx's physics-based motorcycle racer Trials HD, and August 19 brings Shadow Complex, the Chair Entertainment and Epic Games collaboration that was unveiled at E3, where it earned widespread critical acclaim for its modernized "Metroidvania" gameplay. Both of these will also go for 1200 MSP.
