Today's wrap-up includes news on PopCap's move on to the Mac, Cinemaware Marquee's signing of the critically acclaimed Space Rangers 2, and Glu Mobile's new mobile game that's both totally tropical and winter sport-astic, as well as the latest GameSetWatch articles, product news, and Gamasutra job postings.

- PopCap Games has announced at the MacWorld Expo that it will make its games available for download play on Apple's Macintosh computers for the first time. Customers will be able to download Bejeweled 2, Bookworm, and Zuma, which were previously available on Macs only through web portals that offered online editions of the games. "The Mac is a popular gaming platform and Mac owners are among the most ardent consumers and creators of entertainment content," said PopCap chief creative officer Jason Kapalka, "so we're excited to have our top games fully optimized for Tiger."

- Cinemaware Marquee, the newly established independent games arm of Cinemaware, has announced Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators as its first PC title to be released in North America. A critical favorite in some circles, with publications such as proclaiming it one of the 20 greatest games of all time, the title was developed by the Russian studio 1C/Elemental Games. "Our goal is to bring gamers consistently incredible content, so that when they see our logo, they are 100% confident about the quality of the game they are getting," said eGames VP of product development Lars Batista. "Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators lays the foundation for that vision."

- Glu Mobile has announced a mobile phone game based on the Jamaican Olympic bobsledding team, previously immortalized in the John Candy vehicle Cool Runnings. The game will offer an arcade mode for simply achieving high scores, and a championship mode where the obstacle is to guide the Jamaican team to a gold medal. "With the winter Olympics only a month away, fans are anxiously awaiting their favorite events, and the Jamaican Bobsled mobile game is a perfect way for them to get in on the action," said Glu Mobile chief creative officer Robert Nashak. "Jamaican Bobsled gives mobile subscribers a fun way to show their support for the team while playing a truly engaging mobile game."

- Over at Gamasutra's recently launched sister game weblog GameSetWatch, new posts include a summing up of last year's ARG trends, a new issue of the 'Games & Culture' journal, and an elegant completion video for Rez, among others.

- Also updated today: product news including foliage middleware SpeedTree's new list of licensees, as well as the latest Gamasutra job postings from companies including Blizzard Entertainment, Blue Fang Games, Concrete Games, EA Tiburon, Epic Games, Global VR, iBase Studios, Institute for Creative Technologies / USC, Irrational Games, Midway Games, Naked Sky Entertainment, Rapid Reality, Sony Online Entertainment, and Surreal Software.
