Organizers of the Games:Edu 06 conference have announced speakers for the events that includes representatives from companies such as Electronic Arts, Codemasters, Activision, SCI/Eidos, Blitz Games and Climax Group.
The conference is due to take part on July 14th in Brighton, England as part of the Develop Conference. The international event will also be supported by British educational institutions such as Abertay University, The University of Derby and the National Centre for Computer Animation at The University of Bournemouth.
Skillset, the sector skills council for the audio visual industries, is also supporting the one day conference and will announce the games courses to receive Computer Games Industry accreditation at a reception which takes place on Thursday July 13th to officially launch the conference.
The event features a series of three interactive workshops entitled "The Skillset Sessions" which focus on disciplines that are currently being taught (art, game design and programming) and how with industry involvement these disciplines can be better suited to industry needs, the overall aim being to develop the UK as a world source of creative and innovative talent for all forms of computer gaming.
