UK-headquartered video game publisher Codemasters has announced that its Codemasters Mobile division has inked an agreement with wireless company Qualcomm Incorporated to make games using the increasingly popular BREW platform.
Codemasters will release mobile versions of its more popular franchises for BREW-based handsets, including Colin McRae Rally, LMA Manager, and TOCA Race Driver.
"Mobile gaming continues to take the entire gaming industry to the next level, and Codemasters views this relationship as an excellent means to parlay our successful games to wireless users around the globe," said Matt Davies, director of Codemasters Mobile. "We are excited to enter mobile gaming with support from the BREW solution, as mobile phones are truly a global medium for gaming and we look forward to reaching this new and exciting audience with our diverse catalog of game titles."
"Codemasters is a leading European-based game publisher, and its teaming with Qualcomm signifies the growing support of publishers and developers in this region for BREW gaming," said Mike Yuen, senior director of the Gaming Group, Qualcomm Internet Services. "The BREW solution continues to gain traction around the world and we look forward to working closely with Codemasters to bring their key franchises to the mobile platform."
