Canadian game publisher Throwback Entertainment has announced that industry veteran David Siller has been appointed as the company's new vice president of development.

A veteran of the games industry for over twenty-five years, Siller has worked on and created numerous video game properties such as Crash Bandicoot, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, and Aero the Acro-Bat.

Siller, since 2006, had been serving as a consultant for Throwback Entertainment. In his new role, Siller will take on responsibilities including overseeing Throwback’s development and production cycle. In addition, he will be responsible for the creation, and development of original intellectual properties for the company as well.

Among those owned by Throwback are a number properties previously owned by Acclaim Entertainment, which were purchased in July 2006 in the wake of the major publisher’s bankruptcy in 2004 and subsequent bankruptcy auctions. The titles bought by Throwback include Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance, Vexx, Extreme-G Racing, Legends of Wrestling, Re-Volt, and Summer Heat Volleyball.

“David brings a unique view to all the properties Throwback has been working on. His experience, and knowledge is invaluable and is a huge asset to our core team. We are fortunate that David shares our passion and has joined our company,” said Thomas Maduri, CEO of Throwback Entertainment. “With a track record that supersedes many and places him along the ranks of a gaming legend, we look forward to his continued involvement and being a cornerstone in the establishment of Throwback as a brand going forward.”
