The Georgia Game Developers Association has announced that video game designer, writer and IGDA co-founder Ernest Adams has joined the lineup of speakers for the first Southern Interactive Entertainment and Gaming Expo (SIEGE) to be held Oct. 5 – 7, 2007 at the Crowne Plaza Perimeter in Atlanta.
Adams joins almost 30 other industry figures at the Expo, including Ian Bogost of Georgia Tech and Persuasive Games, Sam Lewis from Cartoon Network, Marcus Matthews from Blue Heat, and former Computer Game editor and now Manifesto Games employee Johnny Wilson.
The Expo features a number of special events, such as game design tournaments, playing tournaments, a job fair party, and a student fair for high school students and others looking for colleges.
The event will be sponsored by Georgia’s Film, Video and Music office as well as universities, colleges, and game design companies. Sessions include classes on the latest software, game design techniques, business issues, starting a new company, and more.
“Ernest Adams is justly renowned as co-founder of the International Game Developers Association as well as his work on leading games like the Madden
series.” said Andrew Greenberg, SIEGE director and partner at Holistic Design, an Atlanta-based computer game company. “His books on game development are some of the best anyone has written.”
