Microsoft has announced that this week's regular Xbox Live Arcade update will see updates of two fan favorites with an online version of Amiga hit Sensible World of Soccer, and a port of Atari's vector arcade classic Tempest.

Microsoft says Sensible World of Soccer will run on on "the original '96/'97 code, widely recognized to be the best incarnation of the SWOS series," and will allow players to choose between both classic and HD enhanced graphics.

Apart from the single player mode, with the original full season, quick play, and management modes, the Arcade port will also bring the game online for multiplayer matches over Xbox Live.

For its part, Atari's Tempest, which Microsoft calls "one of the most well-known arcade games of all time," has similarly been updated with full-screen anti-aliased HD graphics and surround sound.

Apart from the classic arcade mode, the Live Arcade update will include "completely re-stylized versions featuring evolved graphics and newly introduced Throttle Monkey" mode.

Both games will be available Wednesday, December 19th, at a price of 800 Microsoft Points ($10) for Sensible World of Soccer and 400 Points ($5) for Tempest.
