As part of the companyís full year financial results
, officials from Nintendo have revealed a detailed breakdown of hardware and software sales over the last twelve months.
After revealing that a total of 18.61 million Wii had been sold during the course of the financial year, 3.9 million of these were shown to have been sold in Japan, 8.2 million in the Americas and 6.4 in the rest of the world. The consoleís worldwide hardware total now stands at 24.45 million.
Software sales for the Wii stood at 119.6 million units worldwide, with 14.9 million sold in Japan, 64.9 million in the Americas and 39.8 million in the rest of the worldwide.
A total of 30.31 million Nintendo DS were sold during the last twelve months, for a lifetime total of 70.6 million. Sales in Japan during the year totaled 6.36 million, with 10.6 million in the Americas and 13.3 million in the rest of the world.
Software sales for the Nintendo DS during the year were 185.6 million. Of these 39.9 million were in Japan, 65.2 million in the Americas and 80.6 million in the rest of the world.
Although sales of the Game Boy Advance had now not recorded by most independent market researchers worldwide Nintendo still reported 1.6 million unit sales during the last financial year, with software sales of 10.4 million.
