3D software developer Dassault Systemes has integrated Darwin Dimension's Evolver character model tool into its 3DVIA website, with the ability to export the models to 3DVIA 3D development environments.
This past march
, Dassault announced its 3DVIA-branded web-centric suite of 3D creation utilities, including the in-browser 3DVIA Scenes and downloadable 3DVIA Studio.
With the Evolver integration, 3DVIA's users can also create custom 3D character models using an online application.
Evolver CEO Brian Nilles said the partnership indicates the flexibility of his company's product. "The integration with 3DVIA demonstrates the success of Evolver in its ability to deliver a licensable tool which enables consumers to do astounding things, with extremely low barriers to entry," he said in a statement. "The 3DVIA Platform and their users are a perfect universe to enable this workflow."
Evolver-created models can be viewed in 3DVIA Scenes for free, or exported to 3DVIA Studio and 3DVIA Virtools for more detailed modification at a price of $39 per character.
