When the Nintendo 3DS eShop launches later this year, it will include a downloadable prototype version of Capcom's Mega Man Legends 3
, offered with the stated goal of obtaining further development ideas from players.
Referred to as "the first Capcom game to be co-developed by the fans," Mega Man Legends 3
has already seen extensive input from fans through developer-guided discussions on Capcom's online Devroom
The downloadable prototype version will reportedly encourage players to add their thoughts to this online community, after letting them try out an a few in-game mission and an iunlockable debug mode.
Capcom announced Mega Man Legends 3 last September
, just after the official unveiling of Nintendo's Japanese launch plans for the system. The game continues the open-world action-RPG series that has been dormant since the 2000 release of Mega Man Legends 2
on the original PlayStation.
Originally planned for the system's launch, the digital 3DS eShop is currently scheduled
to be available after the 3DS' first downloadable system update next month.
