Top-Grossing Android games: Rage of Bahamut dominates revenue charts

May 23, 2012 | By Danny Cowan

Every week, Gamasutra rounds up the top-grossing Android gaming applications, as current that day at Google Play. This week's U.S. revenue charts see Rage of Bahamut and Zynga Poker leading today's rankings, as Airport City and Tap Fish also report top earnings.

These charts allow end users to see who is making the most money on Google Play that day. It differs significantly from the Top Paid Games chart, which is ranked by sales, and therefore is dominated by lower-priced titles that sell more copies.

Data comes courtesy of Google's public sales information. All titles in Google Play's "Games" category are considered in chart rankings.

This week's top-grossing Android titles are:

1. Rage of Bahamut (Mobage, Free)
2. Zynga Poker (Zynga, Free)
3. Live Holdem Poker Pro (Dragonplay, Free)
4. Tap Fish (Gameview, Free)
5. Slotomania (Playtika, Free)
6. Slot City: Slot Machines (Dragonplay, Free)
7. Airport City (Game Insight, Free)
8. Crime City Funzio, Free)
9. Defender II (DroidHen, Free)
10. Deer Hunter Reloaded (Glu, Free)

Mobage's online card game Rage of Bahamut sits at the top of Google Play's revenue rankings for the fifth consecutive week, while Gameview's Tap Fish moves up to challenge Zynga Poker and Dragonplay's Live Holdem Poker Pro at fourth place.

Game Insight's Airport City and Funzio's Crime City enter the top ten at seventh and eighth place, meanwhile, as DroidHen's Defender II drops to ninth after climbing to sixth place last week.
