The 2012 Nordic Game Awards show was held this week as part of this year's Nordic Game Conference, with Battlefield 3, Minecraft and Trine 2 taking home awards.

The awards, now in its sixth year, aim to celebrate the best games developed in Nordic regions, such as Denmark, Finland and Sweden, and is organised by the Nordic Game Program.

EA DICE's Battlefield 3 took the top award for Best Nordic Game, beating out other finalists such as Renegade Ops, Minecraft and Syndicate.

Super Stardust Delta from developer Housemarque won Best Nordic Handheld Game, while the Best Nordic Chlidren's Game award was given to Moogies from developer Plain Vanilla.

Other winners included Frozenbyte's Trine 2 which won the Best Artistic Achievement award, and Mojang's indie behemoth Minecraft, which took home the Best Nordic Innovation Award. Minecraft also won the Best Artistic Achievement at last year's awards.

Finally, the Nordic Indie Sensation Award, voted for by visitors to the Nordic Game Conference and Nordic Game Indie Night, was given to Laza Knitez by Team Buttfighter.
