May 14, 2013 | By Intel

Starting May 6th, Intel wants to inspire developers to forge new ground by integrating voice control, gesture control, facial recognition, and augmented reality with apps and games on PCs in the second phase of its Perceptual Computing Challenge.

With a grand-prize of $100,000 USD and over $800,000 total in prizing available in 4 different categories, Intel is looking for the most unique, innovative, and bar-raising uses of Perceptual Computing possible.

In addition to prizing, Intel is searching for the best and the brightest coders for this new technology. Outstanding work will be recognized beyond the contest with things like go-to-market opportunities and demo opportunities at industry events.

The contest will roll out in 2 stages. First, Select one of 4 contest categories and submit your idea by filling out the Idea Proposal Form by June 17th, 2013. If you're selected as one of 750 finalists, use the Intel® Perceptual Computing SDK to create an application demo that wows the judges and submit early for your chance to win multiple tiers of prizing and earn recognition from Intel.

Visit perceptualchallenge.intel.com starting May 6, 2013 to enter.
