GDC sister event App Developers Conference
organizers have announced two new talks in the Programming & Architecture
Discipline: Intel on building scalable and secure APIs for enterprise apps, and ChaiONE on pairing the latest wearable technology with smartphones.
From the creators of the largest and longest-running game professional-focused Game Developers Conference
(GDC), the brand new App Developers Conference (ADC) offers professionals a venue to share their knowledge about building, designing, marketing, and selling their apps. ADC will run November 5th-7th at the Los Angeles Convention Center and will be co-located with GDC Next
How would you develop for a computer in your watch or jacket? In 'New Opportunities with Wearable Technology,'
ChaiONE senior developer Matthew Moray will explore the expanding market and the technical capabilities of current leading wearable devices, such as the Pebble watch (pictured). He will also touch on how developers can take advantage of new wearable device combinations -- pairing a watch with a smartphone, for example -- to create unique user experiences.
In 'The Magic Behind Enterprise Apps: Where do Reliable, Scalable and Secure Enterprise APIs Come From?'
Intel product manager Blake Dournaee will discuss how enterprise app developers can take advantage of HTML5 and cross-platform API design to mitigate some of the effects of mobile OS fragmentation. Dournaee will walk through the finer points of building a scalable and secure backend, using examples from Ubisoft, Blue-Cross/Blue-Shield Association, and others.
These sessions join a number of high-profile previously announced talks by Netflix, Pandora, Evernote, and more -- all of which are now available on our expanding and interactive Session Scheduler
. More talks will be continually added as the conference approaches.
Also of note, ADC officials recently shared survery results from over 250 app developers
on issues they face currently, including piracy and discoverability on app stores. Those interested in the study can view all of the results for free.
