Food Network On the Road, WillowTree's eHealth talks added to ADC

September 27, 2013 | By Staff

GDC sister event App Developers Conference organizers have announced two new talks in the Programming & Architecture and Business & Marketing Disciplines: Sequence on Food Network TV companion app On the Road, and WillowTree on its eHealth app case study of Johnson & Johnson's BabyCenter.

From the creators of the largest and longest-running game professional-focused Game Developers Conference (GDC), the brand new App Developers Conference (ADC) offers professionals a venue to share their knowledge about building, designing, marketing, and selling their apps. ADC will run November 5th-7th at the Los Angeles Convention Center and will be co-located with GDC Next.

How can an eHealth app developer can bridge the needs of both healthcare professionals and patients? That's the question WillowTree founder and CTO Michael Prichard aims to answer in his case study of Johnson & Johnson's BabyCenter apps.

In Prichard's session, 'eHealth Apps - Applying Data to Healthcare,' he will walk through design considerations for data, security, device connectivity, and user experience, and present a general review of the mobile application architecture as it relates to eHealth touchpoints.

Also, find out what made Food Network's On the Road TV companion app compelling enough to win a Webby award in their talk 'Taking Food Network On The Road.' In this talk, sequence experience director AJ Kiefer and development lead Alex Fajkowski will share how they took each on-air restaurant mention and rolled it into a companion app experience from both a technical and UX perspective.

These sessions join a number of previously announced talks by Netflix, Pandora, Evernote, and more -- all of which are now available on our expanding and interactive Session Scheduler. Recent session additions include Intel on building scalable and secure APIs for enterprise apps and ChaiONE on pairing the latest wearable technology with smartphones.

Also of note, ADC organizers recently shared survey results from over 250 app developers on issues they face currently, including piracy and discoverability on app stores. Those interested in the study can view all of the results for free.

Registration is now open for ADC and the co-located GDC Next. For all the latest news on ADC, subscribe for updates via Facebook, Twitter, or RSS. Also, check out GDC Next's recently announced talks: Animoca's Henry Oh on choosing your next game platform, and D&D: Neverwinter developer Cryptic Studios on avoiding pay-to-win in F2P MMOs.
