Interested in Tiny Death Star
? If you haven't already downloaded it, too bad -- it's been yanked from the iOS and Android app stores. More troublingly, Disney pulled down the game without alerting its developer NimbleBit, developer Ian Marsh tells Pocket Gamer
The game was "a significant source of revenue for us, so it stings that much more," says Marsh. Tiny Death Star
was available for only 11 months before being yanked, Pocket Gamer reports.
"We had no prior knowledge that the game would be removed and no longer even have a contact at Disney after the recent layoffs. Suffice to say if you're a developer looking to partner with Disney this might not be the partnership you're looking for," Marsh told Game Informer
Current players will retain the ability to play and re-download the title, which was a licensed evolution of the studio's popular Tiny Tower
-- which was downloaded
millions of times on iOS alone, and was Apple's 2011 iPhone game of the year.
