Chicago's High Voltage plans New Orleans expansion

Chicago's High Voltage plans New Orleans expansion

December 19, 2014 | By Alex Wawro

Chicago-based High Voltage Software has laid plans to open a new office in Louisiana next year, and will be taking advantage of local tax incentives (including the long-running Digital Media Tax Credit) to do so.

This represents continued efforts on the part of Louisiana to attract game developers (and digital media companies in general) to the state.

State governor Bobby Jindal, who appeared alongside High Voltage chief Kerry Ganofsky at a press conference earlier this week, noted that the deal was "about making sure our sons and daughters don't have to leave the state to find good-paying jobs."

Though High Voltage is perhaps best known for developing Wii shooters The Conduit (pictured) and Conduit 2, the studio has recently found success working alongside fellow Illinois-based studios Deep Silver Volition and NetherRealm on games like Saints Row IV: Re-Elected and Injustice: Gods Among Us.
