GDC 2015: Don't miss these standout Summit sessions

GDC 2015: Don't miss these standout Summit sessions

February 24, 2015 | By Staff

The 2015 Game Developers Conference is next week! Today, show officials are highlighting a few more noteworthy Summit sessions that you should keep on your radar as you prepare for the show.

These talks are part of the eight GDC Summits that will take place Monday, March 2nd and Tuesday, March 3rd at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA during the first two days of the conference.

First, don't miss indie developer Adriel Wallick explaining the positive value of limits in "A Year of Constraints: How Limitations Improved My Development Process" during the Indie Games Summit. After trying to develop a game a week for a full year, Wallick will try to break down the difference between constricting self-constraints and constructive limitations -- and how the latter can improve your creativity, motivation and development practices.

As part of the Game Narrative Summit, Monolith Productions' Ethan Walker will share lessons learned about video game storytelling in "Embracing your Narrative Nemesis - Cinematic Storytelling in Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor." Using his work on Shadow of Mordor as an example, he'll share practical solutions for developing stories, characters and settings that support and enrich your dominant premise.

Over on the Community Management Summit, experienced community strategist Chloe Swain will offer valuable advice on managing teams of community moderators in a session entitled "Free Your Management Mind, a Successful Community Team Will Follow." Check it out for insight into who moderators are, how they think, and what kind of technical infrastructure and philosophical viewpoints contribute to the most successful outcomes when working with them.

For more information on these or others in the show's growing lineup, check out GDC 2015's official Schedule Builder, which continues to add new talks every week.

GDC 2015 itself will take place March 2-6 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. For more information, visit the show's official website, or subscribe to regular updates via FacebookTwitter, or RSS.
