GameStop testing out retro video game market

GameStop testing out retro video game market

April 15, 2015 | By Kris Graft

Newsbrief: Leading video game retailer GameStop is testing the waters to see if getting into the retro game business is worthwhile.

An IGN report says the company will soon start accepting trade-ins of classic games, consoles, and accessories, from the Nintendo Entertainment System and onward. GameStop will then sell those refurbished items on GameStop’s website for delivery, or to order online for pickup at a local store.

250 stores in New York City and Birmingham markets will begin the program April 25. A national rollout is slated for later this year if the program gets enough traction.
