Vlambeer cofounder Rami Ismail is one of many game developers who spoke at the 2015 Control Conference in the Netherlands last month, and now the organizers have published a recording of his talk that you should see.
While it's not uncommon for Ismail to pop up onstage at game industry events around the world, this particular presentation is worth watching because it deals with an issue the vast majority of developers deal with but rarely talk about -- abject failure.
"The large majority of indie game studios do not survive their first game," said Ismail. "In fact, it's very likely that your very first indie game is going to be a massive failure."
He goes on to speak frankly about some of the mistakes Vlambeer made, as well as those he's witnessed others make, and shares some advice about how to deal with them. It's a good talk that's worth watching, and you can find others like it over on the Control500 YouTube channel.
