As we prepare to close the book on 2015, Game Developers Conference 2016 officials are working with the best and brightest in the industry to organize a great show next year. Today we're excited to announce two more talks for the March conference that showcase the diverse variety of sessions available in even a single GDC track of talks.

Both of these talks are part of the popular Design track at GDC 2016, and one will rip into the design tenets and history of an unorthodox game genre to see what comes out while the other explores what two developers have learned in a decade of chasing their dream of building the perfect platformer.

Check out "Idle Chatter: What We Can Learn From Self-Playing Games" to catch Kongregate's Anthony Pecorella delivering a follow-up to his popular GDC 2015 talk on idle games. Pecorella will look at how this new game genre has grown, evolved, and expanded over the past year with support from heavy-hitters like Valve.

New trends in the genre will be explored and new games will be analyzed, including specific data shared from the Kongregate platform and mobile idle games. Prepare to get bizarrely, inexplicably excited about watching numbers go up!

Also, make time to attend "Empowering the Player: Level Design in N++" to see Metanet president Mare Sheppard and VP Raigan Burns talking nitty-gritty platformer design.

Drawing on a decade of pursuing the perfect platformer, the pair will offer insight into the process of extreme level design iteration and refinement. This includes both practical tips and tricks, level design minutiae, as well as broader strategies, processes and tools. Expect 10 years of insight packed into a single hour.

These are just two of the many exciting sessions that will be announced for GDC 2016 in the coming months.  Stay tuned for more, and don't miss the opportunity to save money by registering for the conference early -- the deadline to register for passes at a discounted rate is Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016.

GDC 2016 itself will take place March 14-18th at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. For more information on GDC 2016, visit the show's official website, or subscribe to regular updates via FacebookTwitter, or RSS.
