Disembodied hands scale a cliff in new Crytek VR title, The Climb

December 15, 2015 | By Chris Kerr

Crytek has announced that it will be supporting the Oculus Rift by releasing its new VR title, The Climb, exclusively on the device.

As the name suggests, The Climb - built using CryEngine -  is a free solo rock climbing game that can be played usng either an Xbox One controller or Oculus' own touch control pads.

Crytek founder and CEO, Cevat Yerli, said the prospect of placing players and making them "feel present" in impossible scenarios is what attraced the studio to VR development.

This is second big Rift-related software announcement in less than a week, with Oculus having previously revealed that all pre-orders of its Rift headset will come bundled with a copy of EVE: Valkyrie.
