The 2016 Game Developers Conference takes place in March, and event organizers are happy to report that there will be a great talk from Ninja Metrics chief Dmitri Williams about how you can attract players to your game that will have a positive impact on both the overall play experience and your own monetization efforts.

Williams' talk, "Social Impact: Leveraging Community for Monetization, UA and Design," will take place during the GDC 2016 Free to Play Summit and will break down the concept of "social value" -- the social impact players of your games can have on each other -- then show you which genres, mechanics and platforms are driving it.

He's got data from anonymized benchmarks of over 500 million players of games across a wide swath of genres and platforms to back up his talk, and it's worth checking out if you're at all curious about what sort of games, mechanics and advertising attract quality social players. 

If this is something you're interested in, you might want to check out a few of the other great talks taking place as part of the Free to Play Summit at GDC 2016. Experiment 7 MD Demetri Detsaridis' talk on "How to Get Your F2P Game Greenlit in 2016" is a great example, as is ZeptoLab senior game designer Eugene Yailenko's talk on "King of Thieves: Designing a F2P Game That's Different" and the "Gaming, Gambling or Addiction? F2P Scientific and Legal Perspectives" session from video game lawyer Ryan Black and child psychiatrist Dr. Tyler Black.
