Game Boy autopsy: What's inside Nintendo's classic handheld

February 23, 2016 | By Christian Nutt

Above, you can watch an entertaining and technical look into Nintendo's original 1989 Game Boy handheld -- particularly, a deep dive into the Z80-powered CPU that drove the system.

It's a neat look into the console that launched Nintendo's handheld business, which has been the cornerstone of the company's success since it first took off.

It's worth a watch whether you were there in 1989 or just have a curiosity about how retro systems were designed and what they could do with their limited architecture.

The video comes courtesy of newly launched YouTube channel JackTech, which promises "retro, music, programming."
