Double Fine senior programmer Oliver Franzke certainly had some trouble adapting to his role as lead on Broken Age, and after talking to many fellow developers it quickly became clear to him that most team leads are expected to simply pick up the necessary skillset themselves.
That's why at GDC Europe 2015 Franzke delivered a talk about what he'd learned while settling into a leadership position that provides lots of practical advice on how new team leads can get started in their new role.
