Public video game showcase Day of the Devs is happening again this fall for the fourth year running, and organizers Double Fine and iam8bit are looking for devs who want to take part.

This is potentially a good opportunity for devs to get their games in front of people for some promotion and playtesting, since the event is free to the public and traditionally sports crowd attractants like live music, food and drinks.

While Day of the Devs has been happening annually since it was born in 2013, this is the first year that the organizers have called for game submissions from the public. Devs interested in responding to the call are invited to submit their game from now through September 30th.

"We'll provide machines and TVs for all the games, so hopefully you'll just be able to slide in and have a good time," reads an excerpt of the submissions form. "We're hoping to nail down a list in the next couple weeks, and will let everyone know one way or another ASAP! GONNA BE FUN!"

The event itself is scheduled to take place Saturday, November 5th at The Midway in San Francisco.

Day of the Devs has also previously hosted game showcases at the Game Developers Conference. Gamasutra and GDC are sibling organizations under parent UBM Americas.
