The British Academy of Film and Television (BAFTA) has named the members of its newly-formed virtual reality advisory board.

The Los Angeles-based group was formed back in August with a view to investigating "VR's significance across all the creative industries."

To that end, BAFTA has brought together a number of VR experts from across the U.S. and the UK.

Notable games industry names include 343 Industries' studio head, Dan Ayoub; Alienware co-founder, Frank Azor; Unity chief marketing officer, Clive Downie; Sony Interactive Entertainment America president, Shawn Layden; and Rebellion's head of digital, Matt Jeffery.

BAFTA has also pulled in veterans of the television, movie, and tech industries, such as BBC Worldwide's head of digital entertainment, Bradley Crooks; Lionsgate president, Peter Levin; Oculus creative producer, Yelena Rachitsky; and HTC's vice president of VR content, Joel Breton.

Roy Taylor will chair the advisory board, and says he hopes to "create a forum" that brings new focus to the conversations surrounding virtual reality.
