Video: Devs share some of the simplest AI tricks in the book
Designing and coding artificial intelligences for video games is tricky business, and everyone's bag of tricks is different. So what's in yours?
In a brisk GDC 2015 panel, a handful of AI experts shared some of their favorite simple tricks for creating better game AI. DigiPen's Steve Rabin, Insomniac Games' Jonathan Adamczewski, Lockheed Martin's Kevin Dill, Maxis' Rez Graham, and Digital Extremes' Dan Brewer shared a plethora of AI development techniques that skip past the complicated programming and get right into the basic psychology that will trick players into thinking they're inhabiting another world.
