Valve is looking to help developers weed out fake review code request by merging the entire process of verifying identities and sending games directly with Steam’s existing curator program.

Speaking at Unite Europe this past week, Valve’s Alden Kroll detailed a number of updates the company is planning to bring to its popular digital storefront to boost discoverability and ultimately make the platform a better place for game developers.

One such dev-friendly change included an update to the Steam Curator program that would take some of the leg work out of sending review codes to reviewers, streamers, and content creators.

The Steam Curator developer update would give developers the ability to filter through curators and send games directly to those individuals from within Steam itself. Kroll notes that this could potentially cut down on the number of unscrupulous code requests since developers would be able to verify a curator through the social media accounts linked directly to their curator page on Steam.

Valve has yet to say exactly when this latest update will hit Steam, but the company hopes to have the feature out within the next couple of months.
