Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age passes 1 million sold

November 21, 2017 | By Alissa McAloon

Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age, Square Enix's remastered release of Final Fantasy XII, has crossed 1 million sales.

The game released this past July as a PlayStation 4 exclusive, and introduced a new job system alongside updated visuals to its 2006 PlayStation 2 namesake.

The milestone, which was shared by the company via Twitter earlier today, notably comes nearly a month after The Zodiac Age surpassed 1 million combined shipments and digital sales in late October.

At the time of that previous announcement, The Zodiac Age producer Hiroaki Kato noted that the team had been overwhelmed by the response from both new players and fans of the original. More recently, the game was also mentioned as a major contributor to Square Enix's strong earnings in the company's half-year earnings results earlier this month.
