Gremlin Graphics founder Ian Stewart today announced that he has started a new digital publisher called Urbanscan, and is set to release new versions of classic Commodore 64 games via his Gremlin Presents label.
The first game to be announced for the new label is Bounder's World, a brand new reimagining of the original 1985 release that saw players controlling a platforming tennis ball.
The new game will be released on iOS devices, and Urbanscan is looking to retain the classic ball-bouncing elements of the original Gremlin release, while also mixing in new levels and motion-controlled play.
"I'm delighted to reveal that the first release on our Gremlin Presents label is the new Bounder's World game," said Stewart, now director of Urbanscan.
"We've created an addictive, accessible and fun game that is a worthy sequel to the Commodore 64 original, taking full advantage of all the iOS features such as motion-control."
Bounder's World will be released on the iOS platform in the third quarter of 2011. Stewart said that Urbanscan will "exploit a portfolio of intellectual properties owned by the company including historic Gremlin titles such as Premier Manager, as well as creating exciting new IPs."
