Andy Schatz's upcoming XNA indie game Monaco will be ported to another engine, allowing the game to be released on platforms other than the Xbox 360 and Windows-based PCs.

The port is being handled by the game's co-developers, Empty Clip Studios, on its RapidFire engine. Previously the studio ported a number of PlayFirst titles to the Nintendo DS using this engine, including Diner Dash: Flo on the Go, Wedding Dash and Chocolatier, as well as handling a PlayStation 3 port of Cipher Prime's indie game Auditorium.

Though no specific additional platforms were formally announced, Schatz tweeted that the announcement means that "at the very least" the game will be on Mac computers.

Monaco, described by Schatz as "Pac-Man meets Hitman, was the grand prize recipient at the 2010 Independent Games Festival.

At GDC in March, it was announced that the game would be partially funded by the Indie Fund.
