Gaikai now cloud-streams games for Best Buy, YouTube, Ubisoft

Newsbrief: Streaming video game demo service Gaikai has shown considerable growth over the last several months, and has since signed deals with major companies and websites, including Best Buy, YouTube, and Ubisoft.

With these new partnerships, Gaikai has increased its presence on the web, exposing even more users to its cloud-based game trials. The service launched in February with support from Electronic Arts, and has since grown to include Capcom, Sega, and a host of other partners.

Gaikai CEO David Perry told VentureBeat that he hopes the service will reach "100 million eyeballs" in 2012, noting that the company's streaming demos have proven to drive traffic to web pages and incentivize more consumers to buy games.

In mid-2011, Gaikai raised $30 million in funding, which the company said it would put toward fueling the growth of its cloud-based service.
