BRAINTREE, UK – 17/09/2013

After many months of hard work Ghostlight are finally ready to release Agarest: Generations of War to the PC gaming community’s JRPG audience. One of the first JRPGs to be ported to PC for the west, AGoW is the first instalment of Idea Factory and Compile Heart’s classic console JRPG series and will hit the Steam store on 3 rd October 2013.  Pre-orders are available now and the pre-order page can be found here.  AGoW was notable for making it through Steam’s Greenlight process in just two weeks, thanks to the many JRPG fans who feel there’s a shortage of the games they love on the PC. Ghostlight also offered thanks to the team over at Laughing Jackal who have done so much more than a straightforward port, and also issued a formal shout out to the army of Beta testers who really put the game through its paces.

For the PC version of this game, Laughing Jackal have added full mouse and keyboard support, maintained full gamepad support, added Steam achievements, taken advantage of the higher resolutions that PCs can offer and made a number of other user interface changes to ensure that PC gamers receive the best gaming experience possible.

Anyone who pre-orders the game from today up until launch will receive a mighty 20% discount along with a selection of carefully selected DLC items absolutely free and available for use in-game at launch.  That’s a saving of well over $10.00 so there’s every reason to get in early.

Ghostlight have stated that, should Agarest’s Steam launch prove successful, they expect to be able to bring more JRPG goodness to the PC gaming world in the near future.

More on Agarest: Generations of War:

At the dawn of time, a terrible war raged between the forces of good and evil, ending in the destruction of the world of Agarest. After their victory, the Gods of Light unified the decaying bodies of the Gods of Darkness and created a new world.

Now, the forces of darkness are awakening once again…

Choose the path of Darkness or Light through a truly epic story, spanning multiple generations.

Battle hundreds of different creatures using an array of character abilities, in a compelling and innovative turn-based combat system.

Build your ultimate army of warriors and master Extra Skills, Special Arts and Over Kills to defeat colossal enemies!

Unite with your chosen heroine and use the "Soul Breed" system to shape the fate of the next generation of heroes.

Established in 2004, Ghostlight specialise in bringing the best in Japanese gaming to the PAL region.  Ghostlight have released numerous JRPGs such as the Agarest series, Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky and multiple entries in the Shin Megami Tensei series, including Devil Survivor Overclocked and Persona 3 Portable. Ghostlight are currently working on the forthcoming releases of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 (DS) and a further (undisclosed) console to PC conversion.
