London, 3 rd July 2014 – With over 5 million players worldwide, Bossa Studios, the London-based indie games developer and publisher, is aiming to solidify its position as a leading light in the games industry by announcing the appointment of a heavyweight Board of Advisors that will collaborate with founders Henrique Olifiers, Roberta Lucca and Imre Jele.

The Board of Advisors comprises Ian Livingstone CBE, Andy Payne OBE and David Lau-Kee, all of whom offer outstanding contribution in their areas of expertise, and will assist Bossa with their strategy moving forward as they continue to deliver unique and disruptive gaming experiences that few studios can match.

Founded in 2010, in just three and a half years, Bossa’s small but passionately creative team of 30 has developed six games across multiple platforms, including the enormously successful Surgeon Simulator 2013, which has sold over 1.5 million copies and inspired more than 2 million fan-made videos on YouTube, racking up a BAFTA nomination along the way.

Leading the pack of small, independent and fast-paced British studios, Bossa is highly-regarded for its commitment to innovation in games development, vocally supporting cutting-edge technology such as VR, as well as breaking new ground in high profile government initiatives such as educational games. Bossa is also notable for its dedication to community engagement and emergent creativity, hosting regular internal Game Jams that encourage the team to explore new and challenging ideas.

About The Board of Advisors

Games entrepreneur Ian Livingstone is best known for creating Games Workshop and Fighting Fantasy, as well as launching Lara Croft:Tomb Raider when he served as Executive Chairman of Eidos. Ian has over 35 years of games industry experience, and has played a major role in bringing computer science in schools and the video games industry to the attention of government

Andy Payne joined the games industry in 1985 and is a long term serial games entrepreneur and partner of the crowd-funding initiative Gambitious. He is also CEO of Mastertronic, lead partner at AppyNation, Chairman of the UK Association for Interactive Entertainment and sits of the Creative Industries Council.

David Lau-Kee was founder & CEO of the Criterion Software group of companies, and VP Electronic Arts. Currently, he serves on the boards of PlayRaven Oy and Omnidrone SL, and is a shareholder in a number of leading games companies including Supercell, Unity and Boomlagoon.

Bossa has also seen several new additions to its creative in-house team, recently. Sylvain Cornillon joins as Chief Technical Officer, having previously left his mark at Ubisoft Shanghai, EA/Criterion and Codemasters. Rob Mackenzie has also joined the team as a Senior Game Designer, following his role as Senior Designer on Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and finally, Herb Liu, a Stanford University alumni in Economics, completes the new hires as Associate Producer.
