In March 2013, when Sonic Dash was released for Apple devices, the spiky speedster asked the world “How far can you run?” Two years later we have found the answer: precisely 1.8 billion kilometres, and counting!

Two years and over 100 million players around the world made this happen, collecting a total of 850 billion gold rings along the way and spending a staggering 14,000 cumulative years playing Sonic Dash! Over  the past two years the game featured nearly 10 in-game events and has become available on the App Store, Google Play, the Amazon App Store and Windows Phone.

With participation across all platforms to reach this milestone, it has made Sonic Dash the most downloaded Sonic game ever!

To celebrate this achievement, Sonic has invited some very special friends to join him in an in-game event, coming soon. The identity of Sonic's friends, who are used to impressive success on mobile platforms, will be revealed this Thursday. Get ready, the 150 million landmark could come sooner than expected!

Developed by Hardlight, SEGA’s studio focused on mobile games based in Leamington Spa, Sonic Dash was created by a team of 15 people and took eight months to complete. Sonic Dash was the studio’s second game after Sonic Jump. The team, now comprised of 50 staff, is currently hard at work on new titles based on famous SEGA IPs as well as brand new ones.
