Neon City Riders (indie video game) press release
Veracruz, Mexico - On July 6, 2017, Mecha Studios, a Mexican independent game development studio, launched their Kickstarter campaign to raise funds and develop their dream video game Neon City Riders.
"Explore a decaying futuristic city in search of items, superpowers and companions to free all the turfs and unite their people again!", is the main phrase that describes the whole concept, which is a mixture of action, adventure, cyberpunk and inspired by 80's movies like The Warriors, Big Trouble in Little China and The Goonies.
Mecha Studios proposal is to build a fully-explorable city, where you must find new abilities, items and companions to free all the citizens that were dragged into a gangs war. This 2D video game features some elements taken from genres like action, adventure, metroidvania, and even beat-em up; as a result we have a product that feels like a fusion of The Legend of Zelda (2D series) with the Souls Saga, all wrapped up in beautiful pixel art graphics reminiscent of classic arcade games like Metal Slug.
The backing system for this project is pretty accessible, with a starting reward that includes the digital copy of the game from $8.20 USD, and some middle rewards that includes physical rewards like t-shirt, stickers, buttons, patches and even an exclusive figuren for $60 USD. There is even the chance to appear in the game as an NPC or help with the development by designing a boss along with the team.
"We love to invest all our creativity, time and brains on every project we participate by taking advantage of our expertises in graphics, design, coding, sounds and music.", Director, Jorge Garcia stated, " Our main goal is that you enjoy every minute of our home-made games filled with tons of details and love."
