Plymouth, MI. October 12, 2017 - Today, Stardock released a v2.6 update for the massive turn-based space strategy game, Galactic Civilizations III and its Crusade expansion. Crusade received some unique updates, and both games benefit from new balance improvements.

"Each time we play, we find something to improve," said Stardock CEO Brad Wardell. "We work closely with our community to identify what needs fixing or adjusting and then we do our best to get that into updates as soon as possible."

Improvements in v2.6 include:

Galactic Civilizations III + Crusade:

•  Updated colonization events

•  Increased number of allowed trade routes

•  Custom factions now available in multiplayer mode

•  Mercenaries have been updated to balance recent economy updates

•  Balance updates

•  Quality of life improvements

Crusade Only:

•  Free citizen at the start of the game

•  New mission in the shipyard for harvesting Aurorus Trees

•  The Malevolent ideology now gives a bonus in negotiations

"We made a lot of adjustments in v2.6," said Wardell, "but one of the biggest things I wanted to adjust was the profitability of making "evil" choices. We worked on a lot of the colony events to make sure that those options had as much benefit or disadvantage as the pragmatic or benevolent choices did."

The changes to trade routes reduces the amount of money earned, but substantially increases the number of routes the player can set up. In addition, Crusade players will be able to enjoy the benefits of a citizen on the first turn. The citizen will allow them to make immediate adjustments to their economy at the start of the game.

One of the final features of v2.6 is the ability to play as a custom faction in a multi-player game. Previously, online play was restricted to the original races that were included, but now players will be able to enjoy much more variety when playing games with friends.

v2.6 is now available for download. Galactic Civilizations III is available through Stardock, GOG or Steam for $29.99. The Crusade expansion can be purchased through Stardock, GOG or Steam for $19.99.
