London, Tuesday 17th October 2017 - Steel Media, the company behind leading mobile B2B media website PocketGamer.biz and the global Pocket Gamer Connects conferences, is pleased to announce the all-new Mobile Games Awards.

The event will be held on the evening of Tuesday 23rd January during Pocket Gamer Connects London 2018, and nominations are now open.

The Mobile Games Awards will recognise the contribution of the top developers, tool makers and service providers that help make mobile the largest and most pervasive sector in gaming. And as the hottest market in games, the achievements of the hard-working teams and individuals who continue to rapidly grow the sector to new heights deserve to be highlighted.

To that end, the experts at PocketGamer.biz have created 15 award categories that represent a wide cross-section of the industry:

  1. Game of the Year
  2. Best Developer
  3. Best Indie Developer
  4. Best Publisher
  5. Best Development Tool
  6. Best Back-end Solution
  7. Best Advertising & UA
  8. Best Marketing Campaign
  9. Best Analytics / Data Tool
  10. Best QA + Localisation Service Provider
  11. Best Technological Innovation
  12. Best Game Management & Live Ops
  13. Best Recruitment Agency
  14. Mobile Legend
  15. Pocket Gamer People’s Choice

Nominations for the list of finalists are now open. Games industry professionals can submit a game for consideration in any of the above categories at www.mobilegamesawards.com

A shortlist of finalists will be announced soon after the submission window closes on Monday 6th November, with the winners chosen by a panel of industry judges. A special Pocket Gamer People’s Choice award meanwhile will be voted for by consumers.

A lifetime achievement accolade, the Mobile Legend award, will also be handed out to a person who has made a genuine game-changing contribution to the industry either now or in the past.

CEO of Steel Media, Chris James, said:

"Here at Steel Media, we've championed mobile games since the very beginning. It's a sector that's grown and grown and now makes up 40% of all the games market – but very often still goes unremarked in media circles.

“After another outstanding year, the PocketGamer.biz team leapt at this chance to toast the best in the business. It's important to us that we share the highlights of the last year and shine a light on the unsung heroes whose work makes these success stories possible.

“Hosting the awards ceremony on the second day of the Pocket Gamer Connects London 2018 conference means we'll have a fitting finale to our flagship event this year. We can't wait to celebrate with friends, colleagues, clients and the cream of the international mobile gaming industry."
