January 16th, 2018, London: KISS Publishing Ltd. and Scarecrow Arts are thrilled to reveal that their novel adventure ‘The Story Goes On’ is coming to Xbox One and out of Steam Early Access to full release on PC on February 14th. This fast paced action adventure game offers an innovative new take on the hack ‘n’ slash genre, combining elements of permadeath, random world generation, puzzles and a rich overarching story.

Find yourself in the unfinished storybook of a crazed author, on the brink of being discarded forever. The Story Goes On is a beautifully designed tale set in an endless maze known as ‘The Odyssey’ where each player can experience their own unique journey. The Story Goes On allows players to progress at their own pace; almost every event, puzzle and fight can be a frenzied whirlwind or a methodical trial, depending on your own personal playstyle.

A stunning adaptive soundtrack that reacts in real-time to the environment gives players a truly personal playthrough, and every item is designed to add to your experience and shift the way you play. From epic combat enhancements to new ways of traversing puzzles, items in The Story Goes On are laid out to work with each other and grant the player epic combinations every time they play.

The Story Goes On launched onto Steam Early Access in 2015 and has seen a dazzling array of updates and new features, including new environments, bosses and puzzles, as well completely revamped textures and an updated HUD. Players can now experience the Spooky Mansion, Spider Infested Dungeons and a perilous Mine Shaft as they hack ‘n slash their way through an intimidating lineup of new and powerful bosses.

The Story Goes On comes to Xbox with an exclusive local co-op mode. Xbox players can traverse the The Odyssey with an equally powerful partner in a truly high-stakes adventure. Both players begin with own standard health pool with three hearts and when depleted, they die. The living player can then split his health in half and share it with his previously dead partner. Is one healthy player more likely to finish the run, or are two almost dead players your best shot? Reviving in The Story Goes On co-op mode is a perilous gamble.

“The Story Goes On has always been a hugely ambitious project, and the Early Access community have been incredibly helpful in refining our vision. What makes this game so special is the ability for each player to experience something truly unique, from the soundtrack, to the environments to the combat and puzzles, everyone’s story will be theirs alone.” Said Malcolm Smith, CEO at Scarecrows Arts.

“We’re so thrilled with the evolution of the Story Goes On. It’s unlike anything we’ve published before and is our first title to come to console,” said Darryl Still, Co-Founder and CEO of KISS Publishing Ltd. “We know Xbox and PC players are going to love their individual adventure.”
