Thursday 18th October, Manchester, UK: Bored of board games? Family gaming specialist Thumbfood can today announce that PlayLink™ enabled Wordhunters - the party game that pushes people’s word-play prowess to the limit - will launch on PlayStation®4 on Wednesday 14th November, 2018.

Perfectly pitched to bring friends and family together over the festive period and beyond, Wordhunters challenges up to six players to take each other on in a series of challenging, brain teasing word games, using their phones to outsmart their opponents as they look to be crowned as the word champion.

This world of competitive word games is hosted by Amy the Aviator - your enigmatic and quick-witted pilot as you travel the globe in a jetliner complete with your own selfies displayed in the plane’s windows!

During your journey, you’ll fly to some of the world’s most famous cities - from London and Paris to New York and Tokyo - complete with some of their most iconic landmarks, all while winning mini word games to piece together your own secret word ahead of your rivals. Spell out your four letter phrase ahead of your friends, and claim victory!

Wordhunters features:

●      15 party word games suitable for the whole family

●      Take off to 20 global destinations from London to Tokyo and beyond

●      Play in front of famous landmarks including the Eiffel Tower, Sydney Opera House, and Empire State building

●      Drop-in/drop-out multiplayer for 2-6 Wordhunters ™

●      Easily change language within the game and practice your foreign vocabulary in French, Italian, German, and Spanish

“I’ve taken Wordhunters to big games events recently, like EGX, and it’s been amazing to watch groups of friends, and some complete strangers - get incredibly competitive with each other in play,” says Thumbfood founder and Game Director Simon Smith. “The range of games on offer ensures each contest is a close one, and no one ever gets left behind. It’s quite possible to come from the back of the pack and take the crown right at the end, making sure everyone feels involved in play from beginning to end - whatever your style of play.”

Wordhunters is part of a wave of second generation PlayLink games for PlayStation 4, designed to enable everyone to play from the comfort of their iPhone or Android device, while all the main action takes place on the big screen.

Wordhunters will launch exclusively on PlayStation®4 for £15.99/€19.99/$19.99

on the PlayStation Store and at retail.  You can pre-order your copy now

from the  PlayStation Store and PS Plus Members will receive discounted price
