 The complete programme of this year's gamescom congress on 21 August 2019 has been finalised! More than 40 topics and more than 100 international speakers guarantee a unique variety at Europe's leading conference on the social, economic and cultural potential of games. The gamescom congress is the annual meeting point for business, creative artists, educators, politicians, scientists and journalists. Last tickets will be available until 20 August 2019 at

Spread over the four theme tracks "Learning with Games", "Living with Games", "Future with Games" and "Law and Games", the gamescom congress will discuss how digital games, games technologies and game developers can provide important catalysts for business and society. The new "Public Stage" programme will be streamed live at

The start of the multifaceted congress day will be marked by the political discussion "Debatt(l)e Royale" with the general secretaries and federal directors of the political parties CDU, SPD, FDP, Die Linke and Bündnis 90/Die Grünen. Paul Ziemiak (CDU), Lars Klingbeil (SPD), Linda Teuteberg (FDP), Jörg Schindler (Die Linke) and Michael Kellner (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) have all confirmed their participation. The talk will be moderated by journalist Melek Balgün and YouTube star Peter Smits (PietSmiets). The debate will be broadcast on 21 August 2019 from 10:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on, Rocket Beans TV and the Twitch channel of PietSmiets.

The state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the city of Cologne have been supporters of the gamescom congress for eleven years. Nathanael Liminski, State Secretary and Head of the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia, stated: "The gamescom congress shows the creative potential of computer games. It sets important precedents as to how games can meaningfully drive and shape digitalization. This makes it a unique forum for innovations in North Rhine-Westphalia."

Henriette Reker, Mayor of the City of Cologne, adds: "The games industry is an economic sector with great potential. With the help of our partners, Cologne has succeeded in creating an efficient ecosystem for the games industry. The gamescom congress is an important component here".

Beginning and end of the event:

Admission to the gamescom congress 2019 is on 21 August, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The conference will take place at the Congress-Centrum Nord at Koelnmesse and will end at 6:00 p.m.

- Tickets are available at the box office for 89,00 Euro. Until 10 July, 2019, early bird tickets will be available for 75,00 Euro.

- Tickets for students and teachers cost 35,00 Euro (proof required).

- Congress tickets can be combined with tickets for gamescom (trade and private visitors) for an extra charge.

Further education:

The gamescom congress is recognized as further education for teachers and educators. An attestation will be issued upon request.
