Nashville, TN – January 14, 2020 – Traega Entertainment, an independent game studio of industry veterans bringing decades of experience from Blizzard, EA, Riot, Rockstar, Ubisoft, and Disney, today announced that their first game, BRIG 12, is now available as a free to play title on iOS and Android. The indie studio also released the first tracks from the original soundtrack created specifically for BRIG 12 by local Nashville musicians hailing from popular bands including 3 Doors Down, Mumford and Sons, Allman Brothers Band, and more. Listen to the first official audio track from the BRIG 12 soundtrack on the Incoherent Future Bandcamp page.

Taking advantage of the wealth of musical talent in Nashville, including their own Music Supervisor, Chris Austin (Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule, Saliva and more), Traega enlisted local multi-platinum artists to come together to form Incoherent Future to create the soundtrack for their humorous, sci-fi themed RPG. Austin, an avid gamer himself, joined Traega after studio founder Dax Hock, approached him to work on the audio for the upcoming game. Using his long background in the music scene and connections to Nashville’s deep reservoir of talented musicians, Austin helped form the super group with members Chet Roberts (3 Doors Down), Greg Upchurch (3 Doors Down), and Ross Holmes (Mumford and Sons, Bruce Hornsby, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band). The soundtrack was recorded at Rivergate Studios, a local recording studio frequented by each of the musicians.

It’s so cool to have an indie game studio in Nashville, and to be able to take advantage of the resources in this town to make a killer soundtrack. It’s such a creative city, it just makes sense,” said Chris Austin, Audio Director at Traega Entertainment and member of Incoherent Future, “This whole project came together so effortlessly. It was really serendipitous that we all had time, weren’t on tour, and could all be at the studio to make this awesome music. I’m really proud of what we created and I’m excited for players to check out these Incoherent Future jammers while they play BRIG 12!”

Inspiration for the soundtrack comes directly from the game – the band worked closely with Traega designer, and a co-producer of the soundtrack, Ken Eland to get an understanding of the developer’s vision for how music would play a role throughout the game. Design documents, early looks at the visuals for the game, and reference tracks from games, TV, and movies helped the newly formed band understand the vibe that the studio was aiming for and to deliver music to help set the mood in-game – an epic, sci-fi tone with self-aware sense of humor. Their tracks can be heard throughout the game, setting the mood or punctuating moments of victory, loss, or laughter.
