Wholesome Games partners with Black Screen Records for charity vinyl compilation

[This unedited press release is made available courtesy of Gamasutra and its partnership with notable game PR-related resource Games Press.] 30 November 2020, Winston-Salem, USA - Wholesome Games, the group responsible for May's Wholesome Direct, the showcase that highlighted uplifting indie games, has joined forces with Black Screen Records to produce Slice of Life: Songs from Wholesome Games. The 12-inch vinyl is a compilation of music from 21 games that have defined the wholesome games movement, including Spiritfarer, Ooblets, A Short Hike, Kind Words, Wattam, and many more. In keeping with the community's mission of building a more inclusive game industry, 100% of proceeds from Slice of Life will be donated to Galaxy Fund, a no-strings-attached prototype fund for women, BIPOC, and LGBT-led studios. Galaxy Fund grants are unrestricted: recipients owe nothing and are free to use the money however they see fit. Slice of Life: Songs from Wholesome Games is available for purchase from Black Screen Records, Ship to Shore PhonoCo., The Yetee, and Fangamer. It's pressed on limited edition 180 gram purple vinyl with a jacket featuring original art by mushbuh and a 12" insert with complete credits and liner notes.
