Friday 19th March 2021 London - GamesAid celebrated its annual Cheque Giving Ceremony during the Opening Night of the London Games Festival. During this virtually attended event, we celebrated the UK games industry and learnt about the amazing work our supported charities deliver at this highly-emotional event.
Because of the continued generosity and support of the video game industry, GamesAid raised £70,000 over the last year. In what has been a tremendously challenging time for the organisations we support, the Trustees decided this year to repeat the awards to the eligible charities selected by our members in 2019. This total was split between seven charities and presented to the organisations – Access Sport Trust, Autistica, The Clock Tower Sanctuary, Lifelites, Everyone Can, Solving Kids’ Cancer and MAPS. All Charities received cheques for £10,000. A video from this virtual event can be found on our website www.gamesaid.org.
GamesAid is a UK based video games charity, which acts as an umbrella for fundraising and supports a number of smaller charities that offer crucial help to disadvantaged and disabled children and young people.
