LONDON - Aug 4th 2021

eSail Ltd has launched V2 of eSail Sailing Simulator ("eSail").  eSail is a highly realistic simulation of real world sailing, with docking and anchoring as well as sailing manoeuvres such as tacking and jibing. eSail runs on PC and Mac and can be purchased direct from eSail Ltd or through Steam.

Now with V2, players can race each other in multiplayer mode, as well as communicate via a VHF like chat system. Users can create their own regatta courses and organise private races and time trials.  V2 also introduces 'Sandbox' mode where you can set the wind and waves then test your boat and trim your sails for a variety of conditions.  Another useful addition is a new asymmetric spinnaker sail, perfect for heading downwind at maximum knots!

To create a race course you need to sail to your chosen area and drop marker buoys from your stern into the water.  Then you can share your challenges with friends using a unique access code.   Or you can just take part in the official races and time trials.  You can now get information about the status of the fictional Shearwater world including the weather/forecast and the location of other boats, race results etc. by going straight to the eSail server web page:

eSail includes a complete training course - 'Learn Yachting with eSail' with 17 learning tutorials, from using the eSail controls, through to raising the mainsail, tacking, jibing and more. Use eSail to learn to sail alongside RYA, US Sailing or other certificated training schemes. There are also 5 advanced tutorials covering sail twist, sail depth and more, so you can squeeze every bit of speed from your virtual sailing boat. In addition, you can purchase an add-on for 'Man Overboard' (MOB) with tutorials, challenges and random triggering of MOB during normal sailing.

Once you have learnt the ropes you can explore the waters surrounding the Shearwater Islands and seek out features such as the wreck of the Princess Zara. Your goal is to collect ‘Points of Interest’ (POIs). If you collect all 13 you achieve ‘Master Explorer’ status.

New features:

New languages including Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, Italian, Dutch (existing languages are English, French, Russian and German).
